According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1 pm on Friday, the low-pressure area was some 360 kilometres northwest of Song Tu Tay Island of the Spratly Archipelago.

By 1 pm today, October, the low-pressure zone became a tropical depression centred some 240 kilometres north-northeast of Song Tu Tay Island, with wind power of 40-60 kilometres per hour. gusting at level 9.

In the next 24-48 hours, it would move west-northwest at 10-15 kilometres and could intensify with a speed of 10-15 kilometres per hour.

Localities in the central and southern central regions would continue experiencing rain on October 11-13.

Over the past days, the central region has been battered by heavy rain, submerging thousands of houses and leaving many areas isolated.
