Vietnam recorded no new Covid-19 community infections on Monday morning, the second day since July 25 when the pandemic outbreak started in the central city of Danang.

By 6 am Monday morning, the country had 1,040 Covid-19 patients, including 695 recoveries and 32 deaths. Among those, 690 were community transmission cases, with up to 550 linked to the Danang outbreak.

Currently, 57,097 people are under quarantine at hospitals, quarantine sites and home.

All of the Covid-19-related deaths are patients with severe comorbidities such as heart and kidney failure, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.

The pandemic in the three hotspots of Quang Nam, Danang and Hai Duong has been basically brought under control. However, localities are still advised to be on high alert in terms of the risk of infection.
