Vietnam confirms 30 new Covid-19 infection cases on Thursday evening

Vietnam on Thursday evening recorded 30 new Covid-19 cases, raising the total number of patients to 747, according to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

The new patients include 20 residents in Danang City, six in Quang Nam Province, one in Bac Giang Province and three imported cases from Qatar. 

Patient 718 is a 67-year old woman from Danang who died the same day from type 2 diabetes, sepsis, multiple myeloma, and Covid-19.

Patients numbered 719-723 and patient 730 are residents of Quang Nam Province aged between 30 and 51. They are now being treated at the Quang Nam General Hospital. 

Patients numbered 724-729 and 731-743 are residents of Danang, aged between one and 69. They include nine who had close contact with Covid-19 patients, three caregivers, and one health worker. 

Patient 744 is a 7-year old girl from the northern province of Bac Giang. She travelled to Danang with two other family members who were also infected with the virus.

 Patients numbered 745-747 work for a vessel transporting gas from Qatar to Ba Ria-Vung Tau on July 28. They have been quarantined upon arrival and are now being treated at a local healthcare centre.

On August 6, the country reported Covid-19-related deaths, raising the fatalities to 10. The same day, 11 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospital, the committee said.
