The National Steering Committee on Covid-19 Prevention and Control on Monday morning reported one new Covid-19 infection case, bringing the total number of patients in Vietnam to 621.

The new patient is a 60-year-old woman from the central province of Quang Ngai. She was a caregiver at the Danang Hospital from July18-22. She started to have fever and coughs from July 31 and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on August 2.
As of 6:30 am on Monday, the number of Covid-19 cases linked to Danang rose to 175 since July 25, the committee said, adding that the new outbreak has now spread to nine localities including Danang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Dak Lak, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi.
Of the patient tally, 373 have been cleared of the virus and six patients have died.
At present, over 103,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at centralised quarantine centres, hospitals or at home.
