When the police came to the apartment, the Chinese people tried to run away. Eleven were detained there, while the remaining eight escaped.

According to the police, just two out of the 11 arrested had passports. Most of them were from Fujian Province.

The Chinese nationals were then sent to a local quarantine site for Covid-19 prevention. An investigation has been launched.

Earlier this week, HCM City found eight other Chinese who apparently had entered the country illegally.

Danang City and Quang Nam Province in the central region have also found many Chinese illegal entrants.
