More than 340 Vietnamese citizens from Japan were brought home on a repatriation flight which landed at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on July 28.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the flight was arranged by local authorities of the two countries and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.

The passengers include children under 18, elderly people, pregnant women, workers with expired working contracts, students completing study, and stranded tourists.

Right after landing at the airport, all the passengers and the flight crew members were given health check-ups and then sent to quarantine areas in accordance with current regulations.

The Vietnamese government has organised more than 60 repatriation flights to bring home over 16,000 Vietnamese citizens from over 50 countries and territories since April 10, the ministry said.

Under the Prime Minister’s instructions, Vietnamese agencies, Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and domestic airlines will continue to conduct flights to bring overseas Vietnamese citizens back to Vietnam.
