The winning design
Pham Tuan Long, chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee, said it is a part of the project to upgrade areas around Hoan Kiem Lake and a highlight of the area, further completing the landscape around the lake. The organisers received a total of 105 entries from consulting and design units, research institutes, Vietnamese sculptors, artists, and architects, and students majoring in culture, fine arts and architecture.
The second prize belongs to Nguyen Hoang Huy from Danang City
There was one first prize, one second prize, one third prize and two co-win consolation prizes.
The first prize belongs to the group of authors from Hanoi University of Architecture including Pham Trung Hieu, Pham Thai Binh, Vu Binh Minh, Pham Huy Dong and Nguyen Dang Hai. The landmark is placed in front of Ly Thai To Statue. It is said to be unique, simplistic, sustainable and feasible with hologram technology. The base which is flat on the ground is suitable and doesn't take up places.

The first prize belongs to the group of authors from Hanoi University of Architecture
The third prize belongs to Doan Thanh Ha from Ha Noi. The proposed landmark is located on Hoan Kiem Lake with a modern design. However, it was considered less feasible and other entries. The two co-win consolation prizes belong to Nguyen Quang Huy and Phan Dang Khoa from Hanoi. Their designs proposed to place the landmarks at Dinh Tien Hoang-Hang Khay intersection and in front of the Ly Thai To Statue respectively.
Hanoi authorities will hold an awards ceremony for the winners and display the designs along the pedestrian streets. It is hoped that the landmark will be built in 2020.
