The Ministry of Public Security has worked with the police in HCM City to bust a prostitution ring that involves actresses and models.

On July 12, the Criminal Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security and the police in HCM City and District 1 raided a hotel on Ton Duc Thang Street. Three female models and three men were caught selling commercial sex at the price of USD10,000 to USD30,000. Two of them used fake IDs and one of them had won the title of Miss Vietnam in Australia before.
From the models' statements, the police arrested the ring leader, 27-year-old Luc Trieu Vy from Danang City. He is known as an actor and model and has appeared several times in music videos of several famous singers. He also has connections with many models and actresses.

Vy also admitted to the police that he has tricked the customers. He worked with many rich people who knew very little about the showbiz and only knew the models and actresses via papers and internet. That's when he had the idea of finding women that resemble famous models and actresses, making fake IDs and introducing them to the customers.
The women received 10-20% of the payments.In his previous interviews, Vy often strongly criticised the temptations and depravity in the showbiz industry. He once said he had been invited to go to a cafe bar at the price of USD5,000 but he refused. Many people have expressed anger at his words and actions when the prostitution ring was exposed.
The police have expanded the investigation into the case.
