Three people drowned while swimming at a beach in the central province of Quang Nam on Sunday afternoon.

According to initial reports, a group of four young men went to Thong Nhat Beach in Dien Ban Town on the afternoon of July 5. They drowned while swimming at about 5.30 pm.

Local people tried to rescue the men but only one of them was saved and rushed to hospital. The three others, Phan Van Huan, and Vo Sang, both aged 21, and Phan Phung Anh Khoa, 18, all drowned.

Speaking with Dantri/Dtinews, vice chairman of Dien Ban Commune, Nguyen Xuan Ha, said that the men swam outside the safety swimming zone and ignored the warnings by rescue teams.
