The municipal people’s committee has announced the final design for Tu Lien Bridge which will run between Nhat Tan and Long Bien bridges over the Red River.

The bridge will be 4.84 kilometres long, linking Nghi Tam Street in Tay Ho District and National Highway 5.
The work’s winning design, which belongs to the US-invested TY Lin International Vietnam, is inspired by Hanoi’s long history and rich traditional culture, as well as by modern architecture.
According to a representative from the Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture, the city is expected to have 18 bridges over the Red River with eight built, including Thang Long, Chuong Duong, Vinh Tuy’s the first phase, Thanh Tri, Nhat Tan and Vinh Thinh.
The city has planned to build another 10 others.
