Under the decision signed by chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, the suspension will be valid between April 1 and April 15.

HCM City has 132 bus routes with 14,573 trips per day which can serve 251,340 passengers.
27 bus routes from HCM City to the neighbouring localities such as Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An, Tien Giang, Tay Ninh and Ba Ria-Vung Tau will cease operations during the period.
Coaches departing HCM City are allowed to run two trips per day to localities which are less than 100 kilometres from the two cities. For other routes, coaches are permitted to operate one trip only daily with the same regulation about passenger numbers and distancing.
Phong ordered districts to set up Covid-19 quarantine stations at gateway areas and stations.
Hanoi has suspended the operation of all local bus routes since March 28 in order to help Covid-19 prevention.
