

On Thursday evening, streets around Hoan Kiem Lake which used to be crowded were quiet with just a few people walking. Pham Van Tu, a local resident, said that he had never seen such a deserted atmosphere in the area at 8 pm.



According to Tu, who walks around Hoan Kiem Lake for many years, Ta Hien Street, which used to be bustling with tourists and services is now all but closed.

By late March 26, most business facilities and entertainment services in Hoan Kiem District were shut after the request of the municipal people’s committee chairman Nguyen Duc Chung.
Chung order that all non-essential businesses, including karaoke parlours, massage services, bars, discos, video game centres, cinemas, stadiums, and crowded sporting activities are suspended until May 4.
He also called on people to stay at home as much as possible to help the virus prevention.
