Stranded Vietnamese transported from Philippines

A flight which carried 172 Vietnamese citizens stranded by a flight ban in Cebu City, has arrived in Can Tho International Airport in the Mekong Delta region.

A flight which carried 172 Vietnamese citizens stranded by a flight ban in Cebu City, has arrived in Can Tho International Airport in the Mekong Delta region.

Vietnam Airlines flight VN9668 landed at the airport on the evening of March 24.

Right after that, all of the flight’s passengers and the 12 crew members, were provided with a medical surveillance and disinfection for Covid-19 prevention. The airplane was also sterilised.

The crew members were then sent to quarantine for 14 days.

All of the passengers on the flight had to submit a health declaration and taken to quarantine areas in Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Can Tho provinces.

The passengers had been given with medical examinations before getting on the flight.

The Philippines closed all local schools from March 15 for Covid-19 prevention. Due to this, many Vietnamese students who study in Cebu City couldn’t return Vietnam due to flight suspension.

Vietnam Airlines co-operated with concerned agencies to conduct flight to bring the local citizens back.

On March 1-24, Can Tho International Airport welcomed 20 flights which transported more than 3,000 Vietnamese citizens from around the world.
