An Austrian tourist has died while travelling on a boat tour in Tien Giang Province on March 11.

Austrian tourist dies on Tien Giang boat tour

81-year-old Wykypiel Heinrich was found dead at 3 pm on Lan-Diep VX-SG boat when it was going to My Tho City, Tien Giang Province. According to Tien Giang Department of Foreign Affairs, the boat's representative notified the authorities and the city police quickly arrived at the scene.

Heinrich and his wife took the boat on March 10 from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to Vietnam. On the following day, the boat left An Giang Province to Tien Giang.

Heinrich's private doctor said he had heart disease. When the boat entered Vietnam, he felt fatigued and only stayed in his room and didn't participate in other group activities. It is suspected that he might have died from heart disease.

His body has been sent to Cho Ray Hospital's morgue. The authorities are waiting for the decision from his wife and the Austrian Embassy in Vietnam.
