276 South Korean people are being quarantined in Vietnam
Among the 276 South Koreans quarantined in Vietnam, 142 are in Hanoi, 112 in Ho Chi Minh City and 22 in Danang.
Each emergency response team has four members, mainly from the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Police Agency. The teams have been deployed to the South Korean Embassy in Hanoi and the offices of the Consulate General in HCM City and Danang.
The teams plan to stay in Vietnam for a week starting from Thursday, but they could decide to further stay if necessary.
At a press conference held Thursday by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang said that Vietnam regularly shares information and is willing to co-ordinate with South Korea in the prevention, fight and control of Covid-19 so that South Korea can protect its citizens in line with international law and practice.
Earlier, concerning Vietnam's decision to suspend the unilateral exemption of visa for the South Korean citizens, Hang said this was a temporary measure aimed at fighting the disease, preventing its outbreak and spread, thus ensuring the safety and health for the peoples of the two countries, adding Vietnam had notified South Korea on the decision.
