The information was given by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung on Friday.

According to the deputy minister, Vietnam had so far controlled coronavirus quite well. However, the epidemic has remained complicated in many countries such as Italy, Japan, South Korea and Iran. 

Vietnam has conducted various measures to help prevent and control the disease, including the suspension of visa exemptions for South Korean people.

Dung added that over the recent days, flights between Vietnam and South Korea have sharply dropped. 

At the meeting, delegates also asked localities to quarantine Iranian and Italian people who enter Vietnam for 14 days. 

Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, head of the Government's Steering Committee for COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control, said that Vietnam had not yet detected any new coronavirus patients after the recovery of al 16 original cases. But, it was important to take drastic measures in virus prevention. 

The Ministry of Public Security has to quickly inform localities of people who return from coronavirus-hit areas to ensure their isolation.
