The Vingroup Innovation Fund and Vingroup Big Data Institute agreed to sponsor three Covid-19 rapid response projects

The Company for Vaccine and Biological Production 1 (Vabiotech) said they would pilot produce a vaccine against Covid-19 at laboratories soon. In the first step, they will produce 1,000 doses in the laboratory.

The Vingroup Innovation Fund and Vingroup Big Data Institute have agreed to sponsor three Covid-19 rapid response projects that aim to provide information and ensure community health. Vabiotech will provide VND8bn (USD344,000) for the project to develop a vaccine against Codvid-19 in the laboratory. The vaccine will be tested on animals before used on humans.

The National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology will donate VND7.5bn (USD323,000) for the research project on epidemiological characteristics of the Covid-19 in Vietnam.

The Institute of Preventive Medicine Training and Public Health will donate VND4bn (USD172,000) for the project to develop a national early warning system for Covid-19 outbreak to assess the risk of infection and formulate an emergency response plan.

The institute will also build a statistical analysis model and estimate the required human resources. It will research the infection process, serum and response to the outbreak in the northern, central and southern region.
