According to the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance, a taskforce of the agency and Hanoi authorities on Thursday confiscated hundreds of thousands of medical masks that had used toilet paper within the product as an antibacterial layer at Viet Han Ltd. Co. in Thuong Tin District’s Minh Cuong Commune.

However, the company denied the charge and claimed that the Tulips-branded masks were produced using Japanese technology.
Chu Xuan Kien, head of the Hanoi’s Department of Market Surveillance, said that this was trade fraud, adding that strict penalties would be considered for the violation.
Meanwhile, HCM City authorities have confiscated 27,850 substandard masks. They have taken some samples for testing the quality.
People are advised to buy masks produced by reliable brands.
