An official at Binh Xuyen District People's Committee confirmed with Dantri on February 12 that Son Loi Commune would be isolated for 20 days. All transportation in and out of the outbreak area would be banned. Eight checkpoints in Binh Xuyen have been closed and instead the authorities have set up another eight checkpoints in Son Loi Commune as the commune is locked down for at least 20 days, starting from February 13.

The police, military, healthcare workers and communal officials will stay at the checkpoints 24/7 to monitor the situation and prevent the outbreak from spreading.

Vinh Phuc provincial authorities will support the people in Son Loi Commune VND40,000 (USD1.7) a person a day for self-isolation cases and VND60,000 a person a day for those who must be isolated at the medical facilities. The authorities will also ensure the supply and prices of the daily necessities for the people in the locked-down area.

Eight checkpoints were set up in Binh Xuyen District after many people were tested positive with coronavirus. Anyone who went out or in Binh Xuyen must have their temperatures checked. The state employees also warned travellers about the outbreak and how to protect themselves. Travellers without masks were given one for free.

Vinh Phuc Province has reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in Vietnam with 10 infected people among 15 cases in Vietnam by February 11.
