The information was announced at the meeting about coronavirus outbreak prevention in Hanoi on February 7. Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung asked Ha Dong District to intensify the search for the missing person.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Health Hoang Duc Hanh said as of 3 pm on February 7, Hanoi hadn't had any confirmed case. However, the authorities have monitored 819 people, 48 are being monitored at hospital. There are seven people from Wuhan, 37 people from other areas in China and four people that work at Noi Bai Airport.

45 out of 48 cases have tested negative to the virus.

According to the Department of Health, the localities authorities have quickly implemented preventive measures in accordance with directives. Hanh said it was possible that community infection may occur. Hanh further emphasised that people with symptoms like having a fever, coughing and breathing difficulties must be quarantined. Other cases that must be quarantined are people from Hubei Province.

"Those returned from affected areas but are still healthy will be isolated at home. The police and health sector will check on them twice a day," he said.

Chung urged localities authorities to visit each household to raise awareness about the outbreak. Suspected cases will be transferred to the hospital by special ambulances. He also said quarantine measure is very important during this time.

However, in Ha Dong District, one person that is on the monitoring list has been missing. Chung said the authorities must take lesson after family members in Vinh Phuc infected one another and weren't discovered for 17 days.

"Localities authorities must do their jobs to raise awareness so that anyone on the monitoring list will follow the regulations, ensuring the safety for themselves and everyone else," he said. "The US and Australia also quarantine evacuees from China for 14 days."
