The provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment announced the results of the Thai An General Hospital’s wastewater test.

Thai An Hospital found discharging wastewater into the environment.
According to the department, the test showed that the wastewater has NH4+ concentration of 16.mg per litre, exceeding the regulated level by 1.4 times.
The wastewater samples were taken at a spot check on December 17 last year following complaints from local residents about the serious pollution at a lake behind the hospital. The lake’s water is black and had a bad odour.
The department has asked the hospital to improve the wastewater treatment system to deal with the problem and report on their improvements before January 20.
