Human remains found in Tay Ninh Province

On January 9, the police in Go Dau District announced that they had worked with the police in Tay Ninh Province on the case.

The find was reported to the police at Phuoc Thanh Commune at 7 am by Dinh Van Phong, a local in Cluster 2, Phuoc Thanh Commune. Phong said he found two sets of human remains in an abandoned turtle pond behind his house. The police quickly arrived at the scene to collect evidence, reported to Go Dau District police and expand the investigation.

At noon, they discovered seven other sets of remains in the house of a 63-year-old woman.

According to the woman, her deceased husband told her five to six years ago that someone wanted to buy a set of human remains for VND100m (USD4,300). Her husband bought the remains in Dak Lak but he wasn't able to find a customer then.

The woman said she didn't know whom her husband had bought the bodies from and how much they cost. In 2019, her husband fell ill. Before dying, he said he kept the bodies in their house's abandoned reservoir and told her to sell the skeletons if she could find customers. Four months after his death, she threw the remains into the abandoned turtle pond.

When being asked about seven sets of remains in her house, the woman said she didn't know anything.

The case is under investigation.
