The police in the central city of Danang have arrested two Mongolian men who admitting stealing visa cards and money from a Hong Kong tourist.

A female Hong Kong tourist reported to police that her bag had been slit and her bank cards and around USD650 in cash had been stolen on November 26.

Following the investigation, the police detained Yagaazad Naranbat, 37, and Baasanjav Shinebayar, 32, who used the lost visa cards to buy gold at a local shop.

The men, both from Mongolia, confessed said, they had stolen the visa cards and the money from the Hong Kong woman and bought gold products worth a total VND140 million (USD6,000) at the shop in Thanh Khe District.

They live in a rented house in Son Tra District with eight other Mongolian people.

The police are questioning the eight as part of their investigations.

At the rented house, the police found some computers, printers and blank cards.
