Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien dismissed from the position

454 deputies who attended the NA meeting session cast their votes to relieve Tien from her position during the 2016-2021 tenure. 424 people agreed to dismiss Tien and 30 disagreed. Since the number of votes that agreed to dismiss Tien was over 50%, the National Assembly approved of the dismissal.

Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said they had invited Tien to attend the voting but Tien said she was busy with work.

On the same day, the NA deputies also voted to dismiss Nguyen Khac Dinh from the post Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for Legal Affairs. 94% of the attending deputies agreed to the dismissal. Dinh was given flowers by Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan as an acknowledgement of his contributions.

Dinh was relieved from the position because he has been appointed as Khanh Hoa Province's party secretary.

Tien has reached the retirement age at 60 years old and not a Party Central Committee member. She has been appointed as the head of a committee in charge of protection and care for the well-being of central officials under the Party Central Committee.
