Authorities of the central city of Danang are looking for a Canadian who went missing in nearby Son Tra Peninsular.

Authorities of the central city of Danang are looking for a Canadian who went missing in nearby Son Tra Peninsular.

According to initial information, local police found a motorbike in the area of Ho Sau in Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District. The vehicle trunk contained private papers belonging to Mark Montgomery Mallarky, 52, along with a letter, a mobile phone and VND3 million (USD130.3).

The motorbike is owned by Nguyen Van Cuong from the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak. Cuong, who is Mallarky’s adopted child, said that Mallarky’s relatives have failed to contact him since November 9.

In the letter, Mallarky said he was considering committing suicide. He had been staying in a rented house in Son Tra since June this year along with his wife.

Cuong also added that recently the Canadian man had shown signs of depression. He used to sit in Son Tra for hours every day no matter the weather conditions.
