The decision has been issued by Vo Van Hoan, deputy head of the HCM City People’s Committee.

Dragon Riverside City project in District 5, which is invested by Saigon Vina Land Joint Stock Company, was kicked off in August 2017 has been suspended for building two basements at four buildings without permission.

The total illegally-built area is up to 35,000 square metres.

The company was fined VND325 million (USD14,131) for the violation.

Saigon Vina Land Joint Stock Company has been requested to demolish the illegally-constructed facilities within this month. If they fail to conform the local authorities will undertake the work.

Dragon Riverside City project is situated on a 3.1-hectare site on Vo Van Kiet Street. It includes a 53-floor tower and a five-star hotel along with high-grade apartments.

Apartments of 50 and 130 square metres are priced at USD3,000 per square metre.

HCM City has witnessed up to 619 illegal construction infringements so far this year, up 26% on-year, mostly including unlicensed works.
