Construction starts on Dantri school site in Dak Nong

Dantri/DTiNews has started the construction to build a new school site for nearly 1,000 disadvantaged children in Dak Nong on September 24.

The school site of La Van Cau Primary School has no proper street, electricity, freshwater, phone signal, and even birth certificates. The project is sponsored by TC Motor who wish to help children in the Central Highlands. It is hoped that the project will help improve the living condition of the locals and spread the spirits.

The only way to access the site is by using a tractor due to the uneven and wet dirt road. At some sections, the travellers have to walk. It's a struggle to cross the 10km long road. Dantri's Deputy Editor-in-chief Pham Tuan Anh, Dak G'Long District Vice Chairman Tran Nam Thuan, TC Motor Deputy Director Le Trong Thanh and teachers and pupils attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

"What I felt today is everyone's desire to learn. Everyone wants their children to be able to go to school despite the hardships. Nowhere is the road to the construction site as difficult as in here." Pham Tuan Anh said. "This is the 29th school and classroom project that Dantri have co-operated with kind readers from all over the country and the first time Dantri worked with TC Motor."

Children from the cluster 8, 9, 10, 12, Dak R'Mang Commune used to have to travel to Dak Som Commune's Vu A Dinh Primary School. They have to walk across the streams or dangerous bridges.

Hoping that their children will have a better future, the locals in those four clusters donated money and bought a 1.3ha land to build the school site.

The project has a capital of VND1.5bn with five classrooms and a staffroom. This is also the first Dantri classroom in the Central Highlands.

  

Dak G'Long District Vice Chairman Tran Nam Thuan

Dak G'Long District Vice Chairman Tran Nam Thuan said, "50% of the district's households are poor. You have helped share some of the burdens with us. I believe that the authorities, parents and children alike will be happy when the school site is open."

"This is the 6th school in our Dream Schools Project. I hope the school site will help the children realise their dreams," said TC Motor Deputy Director Le Trong Thanh.
