The six-metre animal was discovered on Van Hung Beach in Van Ninh District on Tuesday evening.

The whale found at Van Hung Beach
Earlier in June this year, a two-tonne dead whale also drifted to at Van Tho Beach in Van Ninh District.
After that, the whale was taken ashore and then buried in line with local customs.
Whale worshipping is a common custom among Vietnamese fishermen who believe that the whale's spirits will protect them on the sea.
Local fishermen often try to save stranded whales and bury and worship those found dead at whale temples.
