According to Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy, the event will be hosted at Hanoi University of Science & Technology on August 15-16 with the participation of around 2,000 people, including international and domestic experts, business leaders, technology startup people, research centres, and training centres.

The programme will see other delegates such as Ulli Waltinger, Founder & Technology Head of the Siemens Artificial Intelligence Lab at Siemens Corporate Technology; Kyoo Sung Noh, Chairman & CEO, Korea Productivity Centre; Dr. Hsu Hui Huang from Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at Tamkang University in Taipei, Taiwan; along with Vietnamese experts such as Le Hong Viet, Chief Technology Officer – FPT; Nguyen Huu Duc, Director of the Centre for Data and Computation Technologies.
The festival aims at detailing a specific development guideline for the Vietnamese AI industry.
Notable activities in the event will be seminars about implementing AI in particular aspects such as tourism, education, healthcare and finance. There will also be discussions on AI growth in Vietnam.
Since 2014, AI has been added into Vietnam’s list of prioritised areas.
In October last year, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued a plan on AI researching and development by 2025.
