"All constructions that block the ocean view will be relocated. Binh Dinh Province authorities and the Ministry of Defence have agreed to relocate Binh Duong Hotel. We are carrying out the compensation and relocation processes," Dung said.
The relocation of Hai Au and Hoang Yen hotels will depend on their land lease contracts. The coastal land will be used to build a park, public beaches for the city.
Quy Nhon is being developed to be a modern city but it must also be able to keep its own characteristics and scenery. In the planning for Quy Nhon Bay, along the main route from An Duong Vuong to Xuan Dieu streets, the provincial authorities only plan to build a handful of high-rise constructions as landmarks. The beaches will be opened to everyone.
"We'll build a pedestrian path along Xuan Dieu Street. An Duong Vuong and Xuan Dieu streets will be turned into ‘roads of light’," Dung said.
When being asked about an abandoned project near Mui Tan, Dung said they would build an embankment and try to smooth out the outline of the beach. A small part will be used to build hotels but the rest were for public constructions.
Regarding public concerns that 82-hectare Phu Hoa Lake may be filled up or encroached, Dung affirmed that no one is allowed to encroach upon the lake.
"The project to clean up the lakeside and build and an embankment has been halted for new directives," he said.
