US’s Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines’ Celebrity Millennium brought 2,000 visitors to Ha Long on November 27, becoming the first international cruise ship to the harbour.

Thanks to the harbour, cruises will no longer have to dock quite far from shore and then tenders are used to carry passengers ashore. Sometimes, it takes final passengers of cruises up to two hours to get ashore.
Chairman of Quang Ninh Province People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long and representatives from local authorities received the passengers.
Work on the USD45.54-million harbour started in November 2017.
The five-star Celebrity Millennium cruise ship specialises in severing travellers for tours to Asia and south of Pacific.

Around 100 luxury cruise ships arrive in Ha Long every year, bringing a total number of 200,000 visitors from all around the world.
From now to the year-end, Ha Long International Habour is expected to welcome some 10 international cruises.
