A poor family in the central province of Thanh Hoa is calling for help to provide treatment for her husband suffering from traumatic brain injury following a workplace accident and two paralysed children.
Le Thi Hien’s children, one aged 19 and the other aged 13, have both faced duchenne muscular dystrophy since they were six years old. Since then, they have been paralysed and totally bed-ridden.

She and her husband tried to borrow money from different sources to take them to hospital, but the situation has not yet improved. Every day, they have to struggle with great pains.
Hien said she could hardly sleep for more than two hours per night as she had to take care of the ailing children when they were in pain.
In addition, her husband recently suffered a fall while painting from the second floor while hired as a decorator. Being hospitalised quickly, he has still been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury.

On the day when her husband met with the accident, she could borrow more than VND1 million (USD47.6) to take him to hospital. Her neighbours have lent her more to buy medicines for the treatment. Doctors said that the treatment would be long and very costly.
