Nguyen Nho Trung elected as the new chairman of Danang People's Council
Nguyen Nho Trung, 55, was born in Dien Hong Commune, Quang Nam Province. He graduated from the People's Security Academy and has a Master of Laws. He had worked in the public security sector before becoming Danang Department of Foreign Affairs' vice head and secretary of the Ngu Hanh Son District Party Committee. He was elected as the vice chairman of the municipal People’s Council in 2015.
On October 6, 2017, Former Chairman Nguyen Xuan Anh was dismissed for misconduct while being in office. He is also accused of being dishonest about his degrees and accepting bribes from firms including a car and two houses.
The members of the city People's Council voted to dismiss him during an irregular meeting last November.
Also during the meeting on July 9, Dang Viet Dung returned to his former position as the vice chairman of Danang People's Committee with 91.6% votes.
According to the Central Inspection Committee, there were wrongdoings in human resource management under Nguyen Xuan Anh's tenure. Dung was voted out as the vice chairman of Danang People's Committee and transferred to be the head of Danang’s Propaganda and Training Department.
