Hanoi and HCM City have donated VND2.24 billion (USD102,045) for people in northern mountainous areas affected by recent floods.
Party committees, people’s committees, people’s councils and the Vietnam Fatherland Front of HCM City donated VND2 billion (USD90,909) for flood-hit localities. Of the total, VND1 billion is for Lai Chau Province; VND500 million for Ha Giang Province and VND500 million for Thai Nguyen Province.

HCM City sent a delegation to visit and present gifts for areas in Lai Chau affected by floods.
Meanwhile, Hanoi decided to support Ha Giang and Lai Chau provinces a total 245 million (USD11,136). Of the total, Ha Giang Province will receive VND50 million and Lai Chau will get VND195 million.
According to the latest report from the National Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control, landslides in the northern mountainous provinces killed 23 people, left 11 missing and injured 16 others.
The floods also destroyed 2,416 houses and damaged 1,535 hectares of crops.
