Father and Son directed by Luong Dinh Dung was shortlisted among 15 films from 13 countries to compete for Best Director and Best Asian Film.

After that, the Vietnamese film triumphed over the rivals to win the Best Asian Film prize for the highest point.
FIFF has attracted many famous directors, including US filmmaker Oliver Stone.
Luong Dinh Dung shared that earlier he worried that it was difficult for his film to compete with those in the list which had been presented with big prizes at Tokyo International Film Festival.
Father and Son has won 16 prizes and 15 nominations at both local and international film festivals. It has been screened in eight US states and 10 other countries, including Canada, Italy, Thailand, Estonia, India and Uruguay.
Luong Dinh Dung is also the director of 578 and Drowsy City.
