A poor man in the central province of Ha Tinh is in desperate need for financial support so he can undergo urgent surgery after a traffic accident.
Nguyen Van Hoang, 29, in Phuong My Commune, Huong Khe District faced the accident on Tet Holiday when he came to his friend’s house to ask for some breast milk for his four-day newborn baby.

The accident caused Hoang to suffer from serious neck injuries. He fell himself into a hole while driving on a slippery road.
Doctors at Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi said that he needed an urgent surgery to help him recover. However, his family could afford the operation cost of around VND80 million (USD3,636), so he was taken back home. Since then, he has been bed-ridden with pains.

His wife, Bui Thi Hang, who gave birth two weeks ago, has remained weak, but she has to take care of three children and her husband.
Hoang’s house is just around 30 square metres with nothing valuable inside. The buffalo, the most valuable thing of the family was sold for the wife to give birth.
Hoang’s wife does not have enough breast milk for the newborn baby, while the family can’t afford to buy powered milk. The couple has two other little children, one aged four and the other 14 months old.
Hoang Xuan Tan, chairman of Phuong My Commune, said that local authorities have called local residents to jointly donate Hoang’s family to build a new house. He also hoped donors can support them to partially ease their difficulties.
