Dantri Bridge opens in Nghe An Province

A new Dantri Bridge was opened on Friday in the mountainous district of Tuong Duong in the central province of Nghe An.

A new Dantri Bridge was opened in the mountainous district of Tuong Duong in the central province of Nghe An on September 1.

The 13th Dantri Bridge was built over the reservoir of the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant with support from Dantri/DTiNews newspaper’s Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund, the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, the Garment 10 Joint Stock Company and Tuong Duong District People's Committee.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dantri/DTiNews' Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Pham Tuan Anh thanked individuals and organisations for their valuable donations which have helped built dozens of Dantri bridges and schools in remote and disadvantaged areas nationwide.

“I hope that local people, especially children here will try to study and become good people as a way to thank the donors for their support," he said.

Dantri/DTiNews' Deputy Editor-In-Chief Pham Tuan Anh gave 30 scholarships worth VND15million (USD661) for pupils from low-income families at Huu Khuong Primary School.

Attending the ceremony, director of Nghe An Provincial Department of Education and Training, Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, highly appreciated the meaningful work by Dantri/DTiNews, the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, and the Garment 10 Joint Stock Company which has brought a much-awaited bridge for local people.

Director of Nghe An Provincial Department of Education and Training, Nguyen Thi Kim Chi gave scholarships to pupils.

Secretary of Tuong Duong District Party Committee, Pham Trong Hoang, said: "We are very happy to have this bridge here. This is a remote mountainous region and lives of local people are still very difficult. Now children don't have to worry about the risks in flood season"
