On August 8, Duong Manh Quyet, Director of Nutifood Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company granted VND1.2 billion (USD54,545) for DTiNews’ Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund to help people in the northern mountainous region affected by the flash floods. The sum includes VND100 million in cash and the rest is nutrition products worth VND1.1 billion.

Quyet said that his company highly appreciates DTiNews’ charity activities and they wanted to assist the flood victims.
Also on the same day, Viet Hung Packaging Ltd. Company donated VND100 million and Tran Thanh Company supported VND50 million through the Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund.
Meanwhile, staff members of DTiNews’ different representative offices nationwide used two days of salary for the donation.

According to the latest report from the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, the flash floods triggered by heavy rains in the northern mountainous region from August 1-6 has caused 26 deaths, 27 injuries while 15 others remained missing. Many houses and schools have been also damaged when the new school year is nearing. Total asset losses are estimated at VND940 billion (USD41 million).
