On August 8, Duong Manh Quyet, Director of Nutifood Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company granted VND1.2 billion (USD54,545) for DTiNews’ Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund to help people in the northern mountainous region affected by the flash floods. According to the latest report from the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, the flash floods triggered by heavy rains in the northern mountainous region from August 1-6 has caused 26 deaths, 27 injuries while 15 others remained missing. Many houses and schools have been also damaged when the new school year is nearing. Total asset losses are estimated at VND940 billion (USD41 million).
