Authorities in Thinh Loc Commune, Loc Ha District on August 4 morning confirmed that Vo Hong Sang, the 22-year-old son of a local man Vo Hong Khoi, died in Japan on August 2.

According to the authorities, Sang who is working in Japan, had a day off on August 2 and went swimming with some friends at the Takahashi River in Sojia City, Okayama Province. Unfortunately, he drowned due to the strong current.

Sang's body had been recovered and kept at a hospital in Sojia City.

Sang's family has shocked after receiving the news about their son's death. They were even more painful when having no money to bring his body back home.



The mother of Vo Hong Sang is shocked at the news about the death of her son.


"We had to borrow money to pay fee to send him to work in Japan," the family said. "He has only been to Japan for five months and haven't been able to send back any money to pay the debts. Now we do not have any money to bring him home."

The family is calling for financial support from the community, especially Vietnamese people in Japan to bring his son back home."
