This is the first expressway in the central and central highlands region.
The first 65km road section of the 140km Danang-Quang Ngai expressway opens to traffic
According to Vietnam Expressway Corporation, the 65km section links Tuy Loan in Danang city to Tam Ky city of Quang Nam Province.
The four-lane section with two emergency lanes will allow vehicles to travel at 120km per hour, shortening travel time between Danang and Quang Ngai province.
The second stage of the highway project was slated for completion later this year.
Work on the Danang-Quang Ngai Expressway project was started in May 2013 which has a total investment of USD1.6 billion, including USD789 million from the Japanese International Co-operation Agency and USD590 million from the World Bank.
