The city Department of Tourism had held a press conference on May 8 to announce the opening of HCM City Street Show. Each show will be one hour long with six stages for different audiences.

The first show will be opened at 7pm on May 13 with Quoc Co, Quoc Nghiep and Vo Ha Tram singers, Arabesque dancing group and other contemporary and traditional dancing groups.
Traditional instruments and modern music will be mixed together, circus shows and sport activities will be featured during the first show. What is promised to make the show different is the combination of street arts with international contemporary arts and folk cultures. International music pieces are performed with traditional instruments or the drum and dance performances with EDM music.
Vu said they would also organise contests to create playgrounds for all artists, hoping to establish an annual international street arts festivals.
"From now on, we hope to get both local and international artists to register for participation. We especially welcome ideas that can integrate tourism promotion too," he said.
Last year, HCM City received over 5.2 million international visitors. The authorities aim to receive 5.5 million visitors this year with attractive and diversified events. Many events such as Ao Dai Festival, Southern Fruit Festival and Light Festival have been held.
