The rhino horn was found in the 20-year-old Vietnamese man’s luggage when he landed at the airport from a flight from Africa on May 8. The three pieces of black rhino horn worth around VND2 billion (USD90,000) were found wrapped in aluminum foil and hidden in children's toy boxes in the luggage.

1.5 kilos of rhino horn seized at Tan Son Nhat International Airport
The airport authorities are conducing a further investigation into the case.
Earlier in April this year, Tan Son Nhat airport officials seized five kilos of rhino horn from two passengers flying from Africa and over four kilos of elephant ivory jewellery and pangolin scales on a flight from Angola.
