To date, pavements of many main streets in Hanoi have been marked by lines to zone the areas for pedestrians. However, the violations have still been seen in many streets, including the Old Quarter.
Hanoi started a crackdown on pavement encroachment in many local areas from March 10.
The Hanoi Department of Transport said that they would give permits to open 300 parking lots on the streets as the current parking facilities only meet up to 10% of the demand.
