Tan Son Nhat Airport under strain as Tet nears

Tan Son Nhat International Airport has become increasingly crowded as people worsen overcrowding by coming to meet their relatives returning home for the lunar New Year.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport has become increasingly crowded as people worsen overcrowding by coming to meet their relatives returning home for the lunar New Year (Tet).

People from Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Tay Ninh often come to the airport hours before their relatives’ flights land and add to the worsening situation.

At 11 pm on January 13, many flights from Hong Hong, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines landed at the airport, bringing thousands of people back home for Tet.
