Massive amounts of different kinds of wild animal meat are on sale at the popular tourist site of Tam Dao in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.
Vinh Phuc Province is home to Tam Dao National Park which is supposed to be under strict protection. But visitors can see many stalls selling wild animal meat.


Dozens of stalls in a corner of Tam Dao Market sell porcupine, weasel, musk-cat and other wild animal meats. These are rare animals are supposed to be tightly protected.

Each kilogramme of fresh chevrotain meat costs around VND400,000 (USD18).

This is a two-kilogramme musk-cat sold at around VND700,000 per kilogramme

Many shops have large fridges to preserve wild animal meat. Shop owners said that they live near the forest, so, they always have available products to sell.
