State President Tran Dai Quang hosted a reception for new World Bank (WB) Country Director in Vietnam Ousmane Dione on December 15 in Hanoi.

The State President congratulated Mr. Ousmane Dione on his new position and praised the significant role of the lender in Vietnam.
The host leader spoke highly of the WB’s support for Vietnam over the past years, including the building of the Vietnam Report 2035 that suits orientations and goals set by the 12th National Party Congress.
The State President also mentioned Vietnam’s key priorities, including strengthening macro-economic stability; economic restructuring in the fields of public investment, banking, State-owned enterprises and fiscal reform; public debt management; infrastructure upgrade; and climate change response.
For his part, Mr. Ousmane Dione expressed his honour to stand by and contribute to Vietnam’s success story during the national development.
The guest promised that the WB would work with Vietnamese agencies to realize the CPS framework with Vietnam’s development orientations for 2017-2020.
The WB sought further consultancies in the four pillars, including the development of the private economic sector, human development, environment sustainability and State governance within the CPS framework.
