A 2,000-square-metre timber storage in Hanoi's Ngoc Hoi Industrial Zone was nearly burnt down this morning.
The fire broke out at 10 am on December 2 and destroyed large amounts of stored goods at Dong Thap JSC. Five trucks and many fire fighters of Thanh Tri District were sent to the location.
However, due to large amount of timber and other flammable objects, they had to call for more support from Thuong Tin District. The heat also broke most of the windows.
Fire fighters spent two hours bringing the fire under control. Electric cables inside also created a huge amount of black smoke.
The workers tried to save as much materials as possible while the fire raged.
Initial investigation shows that the fire started in a small storage area but quickly spread.
