A family in Ha Tinh Province is calling for financial support to save their small son who is suffering from heart defect.
Not only does Phan Dinh Tu suffer from heart defect but also from pulmonary hypertension-high blood pressure in the arteries to the lungs. Vo Thi Hien, Tu's mother, said he had eating trouble and breathing difficulties. Tu has got thin and pale. Right now, he only weighs around 3 kilos.
In recent days, Tu almost can't stop crying because of changeable weather.

"Tu is our second child. We were so happy because he looked healthy upon birth. But then, we noticed bruises on his limbs, lips and tongue were dark, he had breathing difficulties so everyone started to worry," Hien said.
The family borrowed from neighbours in order to bring Tu to Hue Central Hospital and found out that he has heart defect and high blood pressure in the arteries to the lungs. He needs surgical closure of the ventricular septal defect.
However, the family can't afford the VND40m (USD1,800) treatment. Both Hien and her husband don't have stable jobs, they mostly depend on the rice fields and freelance jobs. The family don't even have enough money to buy milk for Tu.

Hien stays home to take care of their son while her husband tries to find any work he can. He still hopes that he would be able to earn enough money for the surgery.
"If he is not operated soon, he may die. What should I do?" Hien said.
