The Government chief was accompanied by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Presidential Office Giang Son, Vice Chairman of the Government  Office Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly External Affairs, Chairman of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association Ta Quang Ngoc, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Tat Thanh.

PM Phuc also wrote in the book of condolences that the Party, State and people of Vietnam deeply mourn over the death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej who is the clear-sighted and beloved King among Thai people.

The leaders and people of Vietnam always treasure the good sentiments as well as valuable contributions of King Bhumibol Adulyadej to the friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.

King Bhumibol Abdulyadej, the longest-reigning monarch, passed away on October 13 at the age of 88.

He was presented with the Human Development Lifetime Achievement Award by the former UN General Secretary Kofi Annan in June 2006.
