A woman in Quang Tri Province is in need of help to treat her heart disease and keep her children in school.
Le Thi Binh said, "I’ve experienced bad health and haven’t been able to work for years, but we’re struggling to have enough to provide daily meals so I couldn't think of going to hospital. About three years ago, my condition turned for the worst so we borrowed some money. We went to Trieu Hai General Hospital, Quang Tri Province General Hospital and then Hue Central Hospital where I was diagnosed with mitral valve stenosis. After a short time, we ran out of money and I returned home."

Two months ago, when Binh returned for health check-up, she was told that she needed to be operated on as soon as possible. However, the family can't afford the operation which costs from VND70m (USD3,100) to VND100m. Unable to do hard work, Binh sells conical hats for VND20,000 a day. She often faints during the days but without money, she only drinks water to be more awake and continue working. Binh's husband works in the fields, and then as a bricklayer to bring in additional income, as travelling and accommodation costs in Hue are too high for them.
Binh's oldest daughter Cap Thi Thu Hoai is a 11th grade pupil. She has maintained a good academic record while taking care of her ill mother and grandmother and two siblings. Hoai's father and grandmother also have weak health but still try to find work to support the family.

Hoai said she wanted to drop out of school to help the family.
"I feel like a burden on everyone, but I don't know what to do. I love my husband and children, my youngest child is only in first grade," Binh said.
